FlipsTips January 2010

This brand new year, I'm reviewing my new hardware I bought from Best Buy. It's Creative's Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 External USB Sound Card.
It is a little bigger than my older Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX.  It has a slicker and cooler design.  It's all black with a blue LCD light.  It has a huge volume control on the device and I can turn the nob really easily with my head pointer.  It finally supports Windows 7 with their excellent software.  The interface is user-friendly for beginners and advanced users.  The software has a few excellent features.  I love the X-Fi Crystallizer.  It enhances the musical dynamics by emphasizing sharp percussive sounds and transients, creating a puncher and more dynamic listening experience from MP3s, videos and games.  The CMSS-3D is extraordinarily louder from the speakers.  I highly recommend that users turn the CMSS-3D on because if users watch DVDs, their effects would be amazing!  The X-Fi EAX has presets including, jazz, amphitheater, opera hall, royal hall and theater.  If users change to a preset to the opera hall, they would hear an opera hall sounds.  The X-Fi also can boost the bass and the performance.   The Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 External USB is my choice for external sound cards for notebooks.  I'm giving it my best full five stars.  Great Job Creative!
