I’m reviewing two items I bought from Best Buy.  It’s the Western Digital My Book Essential External 1TB “Tarabyte” Hard Drive and the LG 20x External Super-Multi DVD RW Drive.  Let’s start with the My Book.  This drive is thinner than older models and they look like novel books.  The case is not stable enough on a desk because the feet are a little longer and they are plastic. But it gets more air to the drive to make it cooler and the case has more air strips for the drive.  It’s compatible with Windows 7 and it is USB 2.0.  The drive is extremely quiet when the drive spins and it loads the data faster.  The new My Books have white lights then the blue lights because they have software built-in within the drive for backups.  Therefore, it makes a virtual drive on user’s PCs.  It is kind of annoying but users don’t know they can uninstall it.  Users can Google how to uninstall the software.  It takes 30 gigabytes of space, not the actual 1T.  The My Book is very affordable!  $110 for a Tarabyte!  Amazing!  The Western Digital My Book Essential External 1TB is my choice for storing a tire library of music and movies.  I am giving it my four stars.  Good Job Western Digital!

This LG 20x DVD burner was replacing my five year old BenQ 16x DVD burner.  It has a slicker and rounder professional design.  It’s black and silver!  The eject button is round and kind of small but it is easy to push with my head pointer.  It doesn’t have a on off switch which users had to turn the burner on to burn a CD/DVD like as the BenQ burner.  It runs automatically through the USB and the AC power supply.  The write speed is incredibly fast for burning an audio CD and it took a minute and a half with eighteen tracks.  With burning a CD with the BenQ, it took three minutes. With a DVD on the other hand, it receive thirty to forty minutes with the encoding process.  The BenQ took an hour and a half or two hours with one single DVD.  It’s a major improvement with my experience with the LG.  The LG 20x External Super-Multi DVD RW Drive is my best choice for burning. I’m giving it my full five stars!  Great Job LG!
